Shawn Faust, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Shawn Faust, DNP, PMHNP, has been in clinical practice since 2018, with a focused specialty in obsessive-compulsive disorder and OC-spectrum conditions, including Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Hoarding Disorder, and body-focused repetitive behaviors such as Excoriation Disorder and Trichotillomania.

OCD is one of the most misunderstood conditions in mental health — not just among the general public, but within the healthcare system itself. The disorder extends beyond familiar stereotypes, encompassing subtypes involving harm, morality, sexuality, and religion that often go unrecognized for years. Many people living with OCD have already sought treatment — and received it — but were given SSRI doses too low to produce an anti-obsessional effect, or medications with no indication for OCD at all. They arrive having been told they were treated, without ever having been treated effectively.

Dr. Faust provides specialized medication management for moderate to severe and treatment-resistant OCD, with an emphasis on anti-obsessional dosing strategies, appropriate treatment duration, and close integration with ERP-based therapy. His practice offers a clinical environment where patients can speak openly — about intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and the full range of what OCD actually looks like — without fear of being misunderstood or dismissed.

He welcomes referrals from ERP therapists and OCD specialists, and is committed to collaborative care that meets the standard these conditions actually require.
